The "Cacc'e Mmitte di Lucera" wine has a long tradition closely connected to its area of production. This strong relation with the land is also embodied by its denomination, which is in Apulian dialect. Palm grove owners (typical farmhouses of Southern Italy) used to let tanks for grape crushing: the crushing phase had to be concluded within the same day in order to leave the equipment to the next user; therefore the lessee emptied ("Cacce") the tanks from the fresh must and the new lessee filled ("Mmitte") them with her grapes for the next crushing session.
The unique characteristics of its area of production (the slopes of Dauno Appennines, the area between Lucera, Biccari and Troia), the skilful blending of vines with a high potential (Troia, Montepulciano and Bombino Bianco grapes) and a two-year refining period in oak barrels gift us with a high-class wine of astonishing quality.
Ruby red in colour with orange reflexes, this wine has a broad and intense bouquet, typical of the wines of this sort, with hints of wild berries and vanilla. The taste is full-bodied, dry, harmonic and mild.
It must be served at 18°C in a long stemmed glass. It matches perfectly with red and white meat roasts, soups, legumes and pasta with tomato sauce. "Canto alla Luna" by Masseria del Sole is a perfect instance of this great wine.

In our properties of Lucera (FG), in the Apulia tableland, we grow and pick up our olives and our grape sorts from which we obtain the fruits of our hard work. In the same place “La Masseria” will be built, a multi-purpose structure surrounded by greenery, created for those who are willing to enjoy a relaxing break in close contact with nature. Our land, especially its portion located in the Foggia province, has been awarded with the Denomination of Protected Origin. The municipality of Lucera belongs to the farming zone “Daunia”, sub-zone: “Daunia sub Appennino”.
